13. Enlightened groups access a full range of experience.
Most work groups are limited in the awareness and expression of their experiences, choosing to talk about observations (what they see and hear) and thoughts. Most of these thoughts are opinions. We spend a great deal of time trading opinions, talking about our thoughts about other people and complaining about things we cannot control. We spend not enough time communicating our feelings about each other and what we want from each other. The group that is able to be aware of, accept and express feelings and desires, as well as observations and thoughts, will become more efficient and more powerful.
