When group members are not open to being influenced by others, the group will falter.

Openness to influence is the willingness to be changed by another’s point of view. This opens the door to flexibility and creativity. When one or more influential persons in the group is closed, the entire group may not address or move forward on critical issues, especially when those issues involve conflicting points of view. An open mind is an open door to creative change.
